PRunderground Removing Active Links from Free Releases

In the next few days, PRunderground will be removing the active url links in free press releases.

June 09, 2008 – Hey everyone, we would like to take a second to make a few announcements regarding PRunderground. If you have any questions after reading this, please use the “contact us” link at the very bottom of this page to, well, contact us.

In an effort to reduce the amount of spammy press releases that get submitted, we’ve decided to remove the live links feature for all future free releases.

On the tenth day of business here, we asked people in a blog post to start reading the guidelines. We hoped that would cut down on the number of press releases we had to reject, but no such luck.

Over the past 30 days, we have rejected 12 press releases for everyone 1 that has been accepted. Not a good ratio. It’s obvious that people are just trying to sneak bad releases through, in hopes of getting a free backlink.

The good news? We will be reducing the price of our Enhanced Distribution, which allows live links, anchor keywords, media attachments, etc… We’re not sure what price it will end up being, but we should have the details up in the next few days.

p.s. - We will not be removing active links from free press releases that are already live on the site, only future releases.
