Deaf Youth USA Launches in New Orleans
Deaf Youth USA is an political, advocacy and activism organization for Deaf Youth in America, between the ages of 18-30.

Deaf Youth USA is an emerging organization with its launch event set to happen in New Orleans
during July 3 - 7, 2008, prior to the National Association of the Deaf conference. Deaf Youth
USA (DYUSA) is an political, advocacy and activism organization for Deaf Youth in America,
between the ages of 18 - 30(ish).
There are 47,000 deaf people in America between the ages of 18 - 30, and we have yet to see
an emergence of an united voice to confront different issues facing us today. DYUSA sets out to
change that.
This summer, the young organizers of DYUSA have set up a camping event with planned forums
and discussions to give an opportunity for young adults of America to converge and express
views on a myriad of issues - from voting for the next presidential candidate, quality of education
and employment opportunities, to representation of the deaf in media and in empowering
ourselves through the use of media and activism, striving for equality and social change.
Deaf Youth USA is committed to social justice through media and activism.
Young deaf people all over America are welcome to join DYUSA and be a part of this first-time
ever event! It costs only $50.00 to join a four-day weekend of workshops, discussions,
networking, and fun! Our favorite saying is: BRING YOUR ACTION. All the information is
