Pionair Expands at Bankstown Airport into new hangar facilities
Bankstown, NSW, Australia (PRUNDERGROUND) 24 July 2008 – Sydney Metropolitan Airport – Bankstown welcomes the expansion of operations for charter operator; Pionair, to one of the largest hangars onsite.

“Pionair is making a substantial investment in the hangar at Bankstown and the company employs over 40 people, which in turn has a flow-on effect for the local economy. The company also uses local aircraft maintenance companies to service its fleet of Convairs CV 580 Jet prop aircraft.
Pionair was originally formed in 1991 at Queenstown, New Zealand where it operated joy rides and scenic flights around the spectacular Queenstown area.
The company started an air tour of the Australian outback regions in 2000. It has worked hard to build good partnership with tourism operators in Australia such as Bullo River station to develop a quality air tour product for inbound tourists.
Pionair has formed a strategic partnership with tour operator Tauck World Discovery, which seen the company expand its touring product throughout Australia. The company is also contracted to Toll Air Services providing night airfreight services throughout the east coast of Australia.
