Amir Khan Announces Next Fight Will Be in Birmingham

Ranked #2 by the WBO and #4 by the WBC, boxer Amir Khan announces his next fight will take place at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena on June 21st.

Bolton, UK (PRunderground) April XX, 2008 – Amir Khan has announced that his next professional fight will take place at Birmingham’s Indoor Arena on June 21st. His opponent is not yet known, but promoter Frank Warren is expected to announce a name soon.

Khan is currently ranked #2 by the WBO and #4 by the WBC. He is the current Commonwealth lightweight champion and was recently spotted sparring with “Pound For Pound” legend, Floyd Mayweather.

“Since turning professional, I’ve boxed in most of the major cities in Britain and I’m excited that my next fight will be in Birmingham,” said the undefeated Khan. “I get fan mail from all around the country, but the majority I receive is from Birmingham and the question is always the same; ‘when are you going to fight here’?”
