Agor Behavioral Health Services Welcomes Jennifer Loughran, LCSW

Agor Behavioral Health Services, Inc. is pleased to welcome Jennifer Loughran, LCSW, to the practice. She provides therapy services for individuals, couples and families.

On Therapy

Jennifer’s  career includes extensive experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; she works with children, adolescents, adults, families and groups.  She believes that when people are experiencing difficult times in their lives, the combination of support and introduction to new skills will provide a sense of relief and the ability to cope with day to day struggles.

Jennifer felt the calling to a career in Social Services since high school. “I was fortunate enough to be assigned teachers that not only put in the effort to teach academic lessons but also very important social emotional life lessons,” she explained. “My teachers’ interest in myself as more than an academic student left me feeling empowered. That quickly sparked a desire within me to help provide the same feeling in others.”

Jennifer’s goal for her clients while in treatment is to guide them to feel empowered to overcome future obstacles.  Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy along with the use of Anger Replacement Training she is able to guide her clients to the emotional balance and stability they desire.

Experience & Education

Jennifer has an extensive experience working in educational settings.  For the past eight years, she has been working in a variety of educational settings, both public and alternative, as well as across all age groups from kindergarten to high school.  Jennifer’s major roles in her positions in the education setting have been to provide individual counseling to students, crisis intervention and group counseling.  Among all settings and age groups it has been a responsibility to maintain individualized education plans for all students. She has an understanding of the policies and procedures and can offer support in regards to parents advocating on behalf of themselves and their student.

Jennifer became licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in 2012.  She earned her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in School Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008.   She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the Illinois State University in 2007.
