International Students Bring a Cultural and Economic Boost for Tampa.

Redmond, WA (PRUnderground) September 9th, 2014

American Homestay Network has expanded its network to Florida. AHN is bringing professionally managed homestays that meet the highest standards for safety, support, and cultural exchange to the region. Florida is one of the most popular destinations for international students with a focus on the Florida Institute of Technology, Lynn University, University of Miami, and University of Tampa.

Homestay provides a safe, secure, place for international students to live while studying in the US. Living with an American family gives the opportunity to practice English skills and participate in day to day culture. American Homestay Network’s hosts are carefully selected and trained to provide a welcoming environment to visiting guests. Depending on the location and amenities offered, hosts are paid between $620-1100 a month.  Host families can be a family, couple, single, fellow student, or any other type of family.

The new AHN office in Tampa is being led by Erika Faulk, Wilbur Crozier, III, and their son Vaughn Crozier. As a family, they share a passion for travel and experiencing culture through food. Erika has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for most of her career. Her role requires the ability to quickly connect with people from all walks of life. She is excited about the opportunity to have others experience the joy and blessings that come from broadening their lives by opening their minds to other cultures. Wilbur is a career entrepreneur who sees working with AHN as the first step in the integration of his business acumen with Erika’s penchant for sharing cultural experiences.

“Working with AHN will allow me to spread the opportunity to experience a different culture with people who might not otherwise have the chance to get to know someone from another country. My experiences in Europe, Central America and Australia were all made better by the people in those countries that shared their lives with me. AHN gives me the ability to create that here in the United States,” says Wilbur.

The American Homestay Network was founded in 2012 to bring the best practices and technologies deployed by acclaimed Australian Homestay Network to the American homestay industry.  With practices based on the Australian model, which relies on industry standards widely recognized as the highest in the world, AHN is also currently serving guests in Washington, Oregon, Georgia,  Arizona, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Southern California, Massachusetts, Texas, and Virginia.
