Award Winning Author Yasmin Shiraz to release YA Novel, Loyal, the prequel to Retaliation

3rd book in Retaliation Series follows American Library Association Award Winner

Los Angeles, CA (PRUnderground) August 29th, 2016

Young adults and teen librarians across the US can rejoice because the Retaliation series has just given birth to its prequel, Loyal. Best selling Author, Yasmin Shiraz, recommits to the characters who were previously awarded when Retaliation was named a Top Ten Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers.

Loyal tells the story of Tashera, a 13-year-old girl and her relationship with her brother Khalil who is 18. When Khalil is shot and left for dead at the front door, Tashera wants to know why and who is Khalil trying to protect.

“I wanted to write a story that honors the close relationships between brothers and sisters but also shows the challenges of those relationships. Knowing Khalil was shot as a part of a gang situation gave me the opportunity to explore how Tashera would react,” Shiraz states.

Loyal is shorter than the typical Retaliation novel by design. “Once Retaliation was recognized by the ‘Reluctant Reader’ community, I wanted to write an introductory book to make them love these characters enough to give Retaliation a try,” Shiraz states.

Loyal will be available as an e-book on Amazon.com on August 28th. Trade paperback as well as distribution through Barnes and Noble and Apple will be available in September.

Loyal is published by Rolling Hills Press, a Division of Still Eye Rise Media. E-book ISBN: 978-1-941797-07-5. Retail: $5.99
