Boy Scouts Of America To Honor Susan Ungaro And The Late Arthur McGreevy At The 2012 Hospitality And Food Dinner

The Boy Scouts of America, a non-profit organization serving youth, invites the community to celebrate the presentation of two prestigious awards at the 2012 Hospitality and Food Dinner. The dinner will take place at Maritime Parc in Jersey City (84 Audrey Zapp Drive) on April 16.

This year the Distinguished Citizen Award is awarded to Susan Ungaro, President of The James Beard Foundation, for her leadership within the foundation. In addition, the Spirit of Scouting Award is given to the late, Arthur McGreevy, owner of Arthur’s Tavern and St. Moritz, for his dedication and enthusiasm within the community.

This fundraiser will kick-off at 6 p.m., with a cocktail hour featuring ten of New Jersey’s best chefs from restaurants boasting awards, such as New Jersey Monthly’s “Best of the Best” and Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of the Shore.” Guests have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction while sipping top-shelf cocktails and enjoying delicious hors d’oeuvres.

The chefs participating in the event are Mitchell Altholz, The Highlawn Pavilion, Joseph Catalano, Above Restaurant and Bar; David Felton, Ninety Acres; Bill Hendra, The Huntley Tavern; James Laird, Restaurant Serenade; John Schaefer, Grato; Scott Anderson, Elements; Michael Cetrullo, Scalini Fedeli; Dominique Filoni, Avenue,;Corey Heyer, The Bernards Inn; Andrew Lattanzio, The Pluckemin Inn; and Chris Siversen, Maritime Parc. Each chef will receive a Merit Award for their accomplishments in the culinary field.

The night will continue with a three-course meal prepared by Maritime Parc’s executive chef, Chris Siverson. Siverson holds over ten years of experience and has cooked for Martha Stewart and Steven Spielberg; for the runway shows of Versace, Armani, Chanel, and Marc Jacobs; and for Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

Proceeds from this event will help support multi-cultural Scouting programs in Northern and Central New Jersey serving over 5,000 youth. Tickets for the 2012 Hospitality and Food Dinner are $175.
