Here is another example of a creative use of a press release on PRUnderground.com. When a co-owner of Villa Bellangelo winery in the Finger Lakes area of New York wrote a book on the history of the wine industry in the region (A Sense of Place: A Discovery of Finger Lakes Wine History and Villa Bellangelo Winery), they used a press release on PRUnderground.com to get the announcement into Google News, Google, and out to social media.
The headline of the press release, Finger Lakes Winery Publishes Groundbreaking History of Region, Winery, contained important keywords for the region (Finger Lakes) and the industry (winery) which immediately ranked in Google News and Google.
Here are the results for a search for ‘Finger Lakes Wine’ in Google minutes after the release went out (first page, 3rd listing):
So not only did they announce the book, but they also got to the first page of Google for important search terms for their business.
And then once we got it out to Twitter, it lit up with retweets about the announcement:
