CBCD Urges the Public to Get Tested for HCV during World Hepatitis Day

Industry: Health & Fitness

“Hepatitis C still kills about 16,000 Americans a year - more than one every hour.” (1) The CBCD introduces two natural HCV remedies.

“Infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV)? The CBCD recommends taking Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.” –  Greg Bennett, CBCD

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) urges everyone infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) to learn about Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR. As Ryan Clary, executive director of the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable noted, “hepatitis C is a ‘silent epidemic’…many patients infected with hepatitis C have no symptoms – the virus attacks with insidious stealth – and thus (they have) no cause to suspect they are infected, much less take action. You can look and feel absolutely healthy, even as serious liver damage worsens. All too often, as a result, this hidden disease remains long undetected, sometimes for decades.” (1)

The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable is a coalition of more than 250 public, private and voluntary organizations dedicated to reducing the incidence of infection, morbidity and mortality from viral hepatitis in the United States.

The formula of Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against the HCV, and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the (hepatitis C and other viruses)…reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (2) The study authors also wrote that, “We observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (2)

Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites.

Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

Ryan Clary continued, writing that “No generation of Americans is at greater risk for developing hepatitis than baby boomers (individuals born from 1945 to 1965). The statistics supporting this claim speak starkly. Boomers are five times more likely than other Americans to have the disease. Three in every four Americans with hepatitis C – more than three million in all – are boomers. That’s why CDC recommends that all baby boomers get tested for hepatitis C.” (1)

But what about Generations X and Y?

The CBCD points out that those born in the late 1960s to the early 1980s (otherwise known as “Gen X”), and those born from the early 1980’s to the early 2000’s (otherwise known as “Millenials”), are also at risk for hepatitis C infection. However, their risk is not as high as that faced by Baby Boomers.

Ryan Clary wrote that “The hepatitis C crisis will only worsen unless we all do more about it. How do we collectively face this challenge?” (1) The CBCD believes one way of facing the hepatitis C challenge is by targeting the virus while it is in its latent form.

What treatments are available against the HCV?

“The combination of a pegylated interferon (IFN)-α and ribavirin is the standard treatment for chronic HCV infections. This combination is effective in about 80% of the individuals infected with the HCV genotype 2 or 3, and in about 40% – 50% in those in- fected with genotype 1 or 4. Lately, two new drugs were approved, telaprevir and boceprevir, with better results. However, the combinations of pegylated interferon (IFN)-α and ribavirin and telaprevir or boceprevir are associated with additional side effects, increased costs, and more complex treatment strategies.” (2) There are also two natural HCV remedies, which were proven to be safe and effective in two post-marketing clinical studies.

The center’s mission is to advance the research on the biology of chronic disease and to accelerate the discovery of a cure for these diseases. The CBCD first published Dr. Hanan Polansky’s highly acclaimed “Purple” book, entitled “Microcompetition with Foreign DNA and the Origin of Chronic Disease” in 2003. In this book, he explains how foreign DNA fragments can cause many major diseases. The book has been read by more than 5,000 scientists around the world, and has been reviewed in more than 20 leading scientific journals.
