Cloud Server Plan For Startups Launched by RAX

RAX (rax.bg), a provider of Private, Public and Hybrid Cloud computing, today announced the launch of vCLOUD Mini, an entry-level VMware powered cloud service plan.

The Cloud computing provider RAX (rax.bg) has launched a service plan named vCLOUD Mini. It is an entry-level cloud solution, which is delivered as Public or Private cloud, per customer’s choice, and is powered by VMware cloud computing technology.
vCLOUD Mini features 1 CPU core, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB fault-tolerant SAN storage. It is available on the European Virtual Data Center of Rax Cloud, located in Equinix, Sofia telecommunication facility. The service is also available in other European locations, such as Athens, Bratislava, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Prague and Vienna through Equinix data center infrastructure ecosystem and through other cloud IaaS partners of RAX.
“The vCLOUD Mini reduces time-to-market and the total cost of ownership for any new Internet based projects and businesses. It creates a very reliable, low cost cloud computing environment for them to develop and grow their projects”, says Dimitar Avramov, CEO of RAX. According to him, vCLOUD Mini is “one of the very few, or probably the only, entry-level cloud service on the market that features a High Availability (HA) at no additional cost”.
The High Availability (HA) functionality increases the cloud service availability and reduces application downtime. It provides uniform, cost-effective failover protection against hardware and Operating System (OS) failures. The HA monitors cloud servers to detect a failure on the underlying physical hosts or an Operating System failure on the client’s cloud virtual machine. When an outage is detected, the HA restarts the cloud server on other physical hosts part of Rax Cloud infrastructure, without manual intervention. The operations resume automatically.
RAX is a member of the VMware vCloud Air Network and provides its VMware IaaS Powered service using proven VMware technology. The company’s customers have the ability to move workloads from their VMware vSphere-based virtualized or private cloud environment to the VMware IaaS Powered service. This allows customers to achieve flexibility and security, while enabling increased IT agility.
