MILLENNIAL ENTREPRENEUR USES SPORTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR CANNABIS RESEARCH
Mr. Diop Shumake, a budding entrepreneur recently announced the launch of the very first run for cannabis research. The Runner’s High 5K event taking place on November 23rd , 2019 in Los Angeles, California is centered on raising money to further explore the physical and mental benefits of cannabis in the age of Green reform.
“The goal is to raise $100,000 for Cannabis research efforts and simultaneously eradicate the negative stigma of cannabis and how we use it” says Shumake. Taking on the stigma of cannabis usage through athletics is no small feat, but Shumake isn’t phased at all. In fact, the founder of Runners High 5k believes that intertwining sports and cannabis is an idyllic means of combating the stigma. Based on the politics of Nixon’s War On Drugs THC and CBD have been previously deemed harmful to the body, yet cannabis advocates aim to dismantle this notion through objective, non- biased research.

Registration for Runner’s High 5K is now open on eventbrite and in order to participate runners must pay a $45 registration fee. 200 runners are expected to attend.
