Improving Immunization Quality with SMaRT AFIX STC Unveiling at National Immunization Conference

Industry: Healthcare

Scottsdale, Arizona (PRUnderground) August 26th, 2016

Scientific Technologies Corporation, a leading technology provider of immunization registry services, disease surveillance systems, and vaccine ordering and management tools, is implementing an “AFIX Technical Development and Support” project. This federally funded effort will provide standardized vaccination coverage assessments to interested states for children and adolescents served by the Vaccine for Children (VFC) Program.

At the end of September, STC will launch a newly developed IT system called SMaRT AFIX to support AFIX goals. This stand-alone analytics engine will provide meaningful
graphs and other data analytics tools to any
Immunization Information System1 (IIS) in the US. This new program’s data management capabilities will help state immunization leaders prioritize, conduct, and report AFIX assessments. STC designed the first version of SMaRT AFIX with input from a consortium of nearly 20 states.

During the National Immunization Conference this fall, STC is sponsoring an IIS and AFIX Integration Evening Networking Meeting on September 15, 2016, at 5:30 PM. This event will provide an opportunity for national immunization experts and program leaders to learn more about SMaRT AFIX, ask questions, and learn how to get involved with the SMaRT AFIX project. Members of the joint development effort from the many participating states will also have an opportunity to meet face to face, network with each other, and talk with other interested immunization leaders.

During the meeting, STC will provide a project overview and discuss the SMaRT AFIX features and capabilities. Attendees will learn how new municipalities can join the effort and participate in the project, will have technical questions answered by the lead architect of the application, and hear from leaders who have developed and guided the program.

An open bar and light refreshments will be available. Please let STC know that you plan to attend: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AFIX_at_NIC

Those attending NIC who are unable to join this evening event may simply visit the STC booth at any time during the National Immunization Conference. Employees can also discuss other STC products and services with you, including:

IWeb – STC’s Immunization Intelligence System is the company’s legacy immunization registry and supports vaccine ordering, provider immunization forecasting, record deduplication, bidirectional HL7 connections, cloud hosting capability, and much more.

Sentinel This disease surveillance system enables states to track infectious diseases and report them to federal agencies. New functionality enables states to manage unknown or novel new diseases through a forms management system.

PHC-Hub and iQ STC is nearing the release of a new interoperability suite of products. This consortium-built program utilized CDC grants from seven states and will be available this fall.

MyIR My Immunization Registry enables the public to securely access their immunization records either online or from a smart phone.

VOMS – STC’s Vaccine Ordering and Management System is helping governments in the US and Canada better manage their vaccine inventory and supply chain. VOMS can be fully integrated with IWeb or used as a stand-alone application.

ImmsLink This product is used by thousands of private sector clients to connect and exchange data with immunization registries in all 50 states.

A full call center and service desk, a public health research and service team, STC’s Perinatal HepB module, stand-alone vaccine forecaster (ImmuCast), Outbreak Management System (OMS), and other public health IT applications are also available.

Immunization Information Systems (IIS) are often referred to as “immunization registries” and are most often managed by state governments to assess both community immunization coverage rates and patient vaccination histories.
