Industry: Apps & Software

Inkscreen, developer of secure productivity apps leveraging the power of mobile cameras, announces their secure photos application PhotoInk achieved VerAfied rating.

Austin, Texas (PRUnderground) May 13th, 2015

Inkscreen, an enterprise software company focused on delivering secure productivity applications leveraging the power of mobile device cameras, today announced the company has earned the prestigious VerAfied security rating for their secure photo management application, PhotoInk. After a rigorous independent assessment by Veracode, Inkscreen was found to meet stringent requirements for secure enterprise software based on industry standards such as the OWASP Top 10.

Veracode is a leader in securing Web, mobile and third-party applications for the world’s largest global enterprises.  Veracode’s automated cloud-based service and world-class experts enable organizations to rapidly address application-layer threats before cyberattackers can exploit them. The VerAfied mark signifies that Inkscreen has applied appropriate standards of due care in assessing its software and achieving a desired level of security quality. The newly achieved status demonstrates that the company is committed to developing secure mobile applications for its customers.

“Mobility introduces risk to an enterprise and few have the means to create effective policies to manage the growing use of third-party apps in the workforce, as evidenced by our research that shows the average large enterprise has 2,400 unsafe applications in use on employee devices,” said Chris Wysopal, co-founder, CTO and CISO, Veracode. “For this reason it is important that software vendors find a way to demonstrate that they are committed to secure coding practices and keeping its customers’ sensitive data and intellectual property secure. The VerAfied security rating is validation of this commitment.”

Inkscreen pursued VerAfied status for PhotoInk in order to provide their customers with a higher level of trust in the solution. PhotoInk is intended to capture and handle potentially sensitive business photos and it was critical this data was fully protected and securely managed.

“Since we are a relatively new company, having the VerAfied security rating was a solid and important validation of the technical work that our team has done,” said Josh Bohls, Inkscreen founder. “We plan to continue our relationship indefinitely and maintain the VerAfied status of PhotoInk as we continue to innovate and add functionality for our customers.”
