How to Successfully Manage Physician Contracts is the Topic of Discussion

Nashville, TN (PRUnderground) April 10th, 2018

Gail Peace, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ludi, a technology company that helps hospitals and health systems manage physician contracts in order to improve compliance and optimize spend, will be a featured speaker at the Health Care Compliance Association’s 22nd Annual Compliance Institute.

On Monday, April 16 at 3:00 p.m., Peace will present Why Managing Physician Contracts is like a Game of Whack-a-Mole – and How to Position Your Health System to Win. During this session, attendees will learn about the hidden risks of physician contracts and how managing the compliance issues surrounding these contracts is like a game of Whack-a-Mole. Attendees will also hear case studies from the Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer and the General Counsel of two large health systems based in Chicago and Philadelphia. These two Ludi clients will discuss the complexity of physician contracts and how their systems successfully manage those contracts. Peace will conclude the session by sharing tips on how to improve the physician contract management process.

“Most hospitals and health systems have a multitude of physician contracts. It is extremely difficult to keep track of these, let alone stay compliant and optimize physician spend,” says Peace. “I look forward to our clients sharing the insights they’ve gained from helping their health systems transition from manually managing physician contracts to a SaaS-based process that significantly improves compliance and delivers financial benefits.”

Recently, news reports have highlighted federal investigations of several health systems’ alleged violations of the Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute. Physician contracts and payments are at the center of these investigations. This has caused some health system leaders to question the processes used to track and manage their own physician contracts and payments.

“In today’s environment, hospitals and health systems must manage their physician contracts more efficiently and effectively,” says Peace. “The risk of non-compliance is just one issue. Proper management of physician contracts can save hospitals thousands of dollars every year.”

The Compliance Institute, which focuses on compliance issues surrounding healthcare reform and hospital-physician alignment, among other topics, brings together more than 2,500 attendees from around the U.S. During the four-day event, attendees have access to over 150 educational sessions.

The Compliance Institute is April 15-18 in Las Vegas.
