Make a new best friend with Poke Trainer IOS

Poke Trainer, a free companion app for Pokemon Go enthusiasts helps catch new friendships, teammates, and relations that may never have been possible. The app is available for IOS in the Apple “App” Store and has over two-thousand beta testers ready for the initial release.

Poke Trainer creator Jeffrey Shafer paired up two separate platonic friends one evening trying to catch Pokémon together.  He quickly created a Facebook business page and placed an ad to gauge millennials interest in the idea. Without any UI design, website, or actual content, the post had over 1,000 likes in three days, Shafer knew he was on to something. Poke Trainer is a location-based companion app that connects Pokémon Go players by team, level of experience, and how they wish to hunt; all while providing health information for each trainer.

Jeffrey Shafer, creator of the app says, “Poke Trainer is a friendship app first and foremost. It’s developed so no matter how infrequent or often you play Pokemon Go there will always be a trainer for your skill level and interest”.

Trainers are not only using the Poke Trainer app to find friends, teammates, and connections but will be able to group chat in big cities to let others know what Pokémon is around them. The ‘Poke Health’ feature tracks miles walked, calories burned, and time played while using the app. The more a trainer uses their ‘poke health’ the better the match to their own health progress they will receive.

“The mission is to provide a place to catch new friendships, teammates, and relations that may never have been possible. Whether you’re a college student or busy parent with the Poke Trainer companion app, you’ll never have to pogo {Pokemon Go} alone again,” says Shafer.

“Providing a place where you can safely vet other players was important for the continued success of Pokemon Go and future augmented reality {AR} games. There are people walking around alone in sketchy unfamiliar areas and it was something I wanted to help mitigate,” said Shafer.
