Mayor Regalado receives the first original image of the Miami Photo Salon’14

Mayor of the City of Miami Tomas Regalado received last Saturday the first original copy of the 2014 Miami Photo Salon at the Cuban American Phototheque Foundation.

In a simple but moving ceremony the Mayor of the City of Miami Tomas Regalado received last Saturday the first original copy of the 2014 Miami Photo Salon at the Cuban American Phototheque  (CAPF), from the hands of its creator the prominent photojournalist Roberto Koltun. The picture, -a portrait of the unforgettable singer Celia Cruz-, is part of the exhibition TRIBUTE, which is open at the CAPF since last November 15.

The first edition ever of the Miami Photo Salon will be open to the public from 2 to 5 December at the Kaplan Hall / Wolfson Auditorium of Temple Israel of Downtown of the city, and boasts the participation of 40 international photographers chosen by a jury of admission. Also at the Temple Israel, the Cuban American Photothèque Pavilion will present a group show with the artwork of relevant Hispanics artists from South Florida, which adds to independent gallery spaces, conferences, and workshops. A Preview will take place on December 1st by invitation only.

The exhibit Tribute is part of the Miami Photo Salon Festival from the enclave of Bird Road Art District where the Phototheque is located.This first Festival Miami Photo Salon will end where it began, with Breakfast in the CAPF Saturday December 6th starting at 10 am.
