New research shows fitness trend is set to rise, highlighting a need for more Entrepreneurs like Sydney’s Paul Burkett.

Industry: Business

The recent ‘Nielsen’s Survey’ study showed Functional training, HIIT, and holistic wellness all look set to rise in the foreseeable future. Mr Paul Burkett is one of Sydney’s new wave of Entrepreneurs who are driving the ‘fitness business’ trend and realising the importance of physical and mental wellbeing in the business journey.

After over 20 years in sales and marketing, starting multiple businesses and consulting around the globe, Paul Burkett was diagnosed with a heart condition – Atrial Fibrillation brought on by stress.

‘Instead of going on the meds they suggested, I wanted to try and handle this in a more sustainable way, with fitness and healthy eating,’ he said.

Managing to overcome the condition with exercise and finding a passion for health and wellbeing in the process, Paul Burkett went on to launch a gym equipment business, an F45 and secure stakes in a boxing gym.

‘I think my businesses, consulting and speaking work have the same goal, to help people be the best version of themselves and succeed both professionally and personally,’ Paul Burkett said.

The trend is set to only increase as experts comment that, ‘as cardiovascular disease and the obesity epidemic continue to rise, the industry will play an increasingly important role in the health of global populations.’

‘Millennials are exercising more, eating smarter, and smoking less than previous generations… And this is one space where they’re willing to spend money,’Goldman Sachs.

Mr Burkett’s company ‘PB life’ not only consults leaders in mastering sales and business, but also in ‘thriving through failure’. After overcoming business and health setbacks and media defamation, Mr Burkett is championing the concept of ‘falling forward’.

‘If you’re in business you’re going to fail. You can be at the top of your game and have a fall, but it’s all about getting back up.’

‘We help people who are struggling and have gone through hardships in business and life, coaching them through failure and how to make that your strength.’

‘It is all about empowering people and coaching on how to fall without smashing your face on the pavement,’ said Mr Burkett.

‘PB life’ is helping people understand that ‘life is not perfect’ and highlighting the importance of being honest with how you feel and removing the ‘stiff upper lip’ mentality. It is also standing as a great example of one company tapping into the booming fitness market and appreciating the need for a wholesome approach to business and life.
