Bridging the Gap Making an Educated Move Mental Health Conference to bridge the gap of communication between persons with mental illnesses

Houston, Texas (PRUnderground) March 7th, 2016

New Testament Outreach International Ministries (NOIM), a non-profit organization, founded by Bishop Ben and Pastor Eva Phagan in 2009, seeks to make a difference in the lives of people at a “grass-roots” level by providing empowering information and tools about mental illness. Untreated mental illness is a major issue in our society. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, in 2014 “there were an estimated 43.6 million adults aged 18 or older in the U.S. identified as having a mental illness,” this number represents 18.1% of all U.S. adults. NOIM will be conducting a one of a kind Mental Health Conference focused on “Bridging the Gap” with mental health patients, communities and faith organizations. The objective of the event is to destroy barriers of communication surrounding the topic of mental illness through education about prevention, intervention, crisis and rehabilitation methods for those with mental illnesses, their families, communities and faith organizations.
