New York, NY (PRUnderground) October 26th, 2016

Tribeca-based New York Sports & Joints, a leading orthopaedic practice known for its commitment to innovative treatments, announced today that it is teaming up with Kryogenesis, a pioneer in cryotherapy applications in the US, to integrate whole body cryotherapy into its orthopaedic, pain management and recovery services. Kryogenesis will open a cryotherapy center inside New York Sports & Joints’ facility at 110 Duane Street in Tribeca on November 1st.

Cryotherapy is a therapeutic and non-invasive process that uses short periods of intense cold exposure to help reduce inflammation, manage chronic pain and promote muscle recovery. Once the exclusive domain of professional athletes, cryotherapy saunas are making the treatment choice a viable option for anyone dealing with physical recovery. The street-level location will be the first-ever cryotherapy center associated with the medical community in New York City.

“We’re really pleased to add cryotherapy to our expanding menu of alternative and cutting-edge services,” says Kenneth McCulloch, M.D., board certified orthopaedic surgeon and founder of New York Sports & Joints. “Within the field of orthopaedic surgery, we have a history of bringing innovation to our patients by being the first to perform advanced procedures, such as, anterior hip replacements and robotic total knee replacements. And thanks to our new partnership with Kryogenesis, we’ll continue this commitment to our patients and community by offering the convenience of having a whole body cryosauna and local machine located right here within our medical facility.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with one of NYC’s top orthopaedic surgeons and this highly regarded medical facility,” says Kryogenesis co-founder, Lance Mald. “Cryotherapy is on the cutting edge of treating musculoskeletal injuries and we can’t wait to see how New York Sports & Joints patients respond to it.”

New York Sports & Joints will host a grand opening event on November 1st between 5 pm and 8 pm to help raise awareness of the new service. Local celebrities and sports figures including Steve Weatherford and New York Giants players Jay Bromley, Kerry Wynn and Rob Thomas, will be on hand to talk about their own personal experiences gleaned from using the Kryogenesis leading edge equipment.
