Parents with Shingles Can Infect Their Kids with the Chickenpox Virus; CBCD Reviews Studies

Industry: Health & Fitness

The Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) causes both chickenpox and herpes zoster (HZ or shingles). The CBCD explains parents can transmit the chickenpox virus to their kids.

“Are you infected with VZV? The CBCD recommends taking Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD

Parents with a herpes zoster outbreak can transmit the Varicella Zoster Virus to their kids, who will then develop chickenpox. This is because VZV causes both shingles and chickenpox. Rebecca Gillie wrote in an article for Parentdish.co.uk that “Nine out of 10 people catch chickenpox as children … in some cases, the virus flares up again in adulthood as shingles.” (1) If a child has not been exposed to VZV they can catch the virus from a parent. WebMD notes that, “if you have not had chickenpox before, you can also catch chickenpox from someone with shingles.” (2) Click to learn more about latent viruses.

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) therefore recommends that people infected with VZV take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR. The formula of these natural antiviral products was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against latent viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs.  Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with a (latent virus) … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (3)  The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (3)

Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites.

Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

“The chickenpox virus is spread in the same ways as colds and flu. It’s contained in the millions of tiny droplets that come out of the nose and mouth when an infected person sneezes or coughs. You can then become infected with the virus by breathing in these droplets from the air. You can also become infected by handling a surface or object that these droplets have landed on, then transferring the virus to yourself by touching your face. It takes seven to 21 days for the symptoms of chickenpox to show after you have come into contact with the virus. This is called the ‘incubation period’.” (2)

In addition, as noted above, an individual with shingles “could pass on the herpes varicella-zoster virus and give chickenpox to someone who has never previously had it, so your children could become infected with chickenpox if they haven’t already had it.” (1) Doctors warn that the VZV “can pose a risk to the health of people who meet certain criteria. It is best to avoid people who have never had chickenpox and meet any of the following criteria: pregnant women, the elderly, newborn babies, anyone with a weakened immune system.” (1)

In light of the above information, the CBCD recommends that individuals infected with VZV take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (https://www.cbcd.net) is a not-for-profit tax-exempt organization under section 501(c) 3 of the IRS tax code. The center’s mission is to advance the research on the biology of chronic disease and to accelerate the discovery of a cure for these diseases. The CBCD first published Dr. Hanan Polansky’s highly acclaimed “Purple” book, entitled “Microcompetition with Foreign DNA and the Origin of Chronic Disease” in 2003. In this book, he explains how foreign DNA fragments can cause many major diseases. The book has been read by more than 5,000 scientists around the world, and has been reviewed in more than 20 leading scientific journals. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
