American-made, reusable Mason jar lid company, reCAP®, announced today that it is celebrating its tenth business anniversary.

In November 2011, Karen Rzepecki, the President and Founder of reCAP Mason Jars, raised over $16,000 on Kickstarter. These funds helped to create the first plastic injection mold.

“It all started with salad dressing,” laughs Karen Rzepecki. “I was tired of messy rusty lids. When I couldn’t find the product I was looking for, I decided to invent it. It turns out a lot of other people wanted a high-quality reusable Mason jar lid as well.”

Today, the company has sold a staggering number of caps, over 1,000,000. Today, major retailers such as Wegmans, Vermont Country Store, and Kroger carry reCAP.

Through creating this revolutionary Mason jar product, Rzepecki met an abundance of makers and small business owners at tradeshows. Through this networking, she realized a significant need: Few online marketplaces allowed shoppers to browse a multitude of makers’ products while still enjoying a streamlined checkout process.
