SCORE honors Sherri Renée Romm as Client of the Year and Announces Community Awards at its Annual Luncheon

The Greater Baltimore SCORE Chapter held its 2018 Annual Awards Luncheon on September 27th at the Radisson Hotel in Cross Keys, Baltimore. Presiding over the annual event, Chapter Chair Shadeed Eleazer announced awards for Client of the Year to Sherri Renée Romm, owner of Versacchi and Sherri Renée & Co.; Mentor of the Year to Jake Spencer; and Volunteer of the Year to Christina Owens.  Awards for service were given to Martin Mendelsohn and Harold Rappoport for 15 years; Jackye Malloy-Jones and Larry Davis for 10 years; and Steve Joss and Ed Zehler for 5 years.  The Chapter’s Executive Board for 2018-2019 was sworn in: Shadeed Eleazer, Chapter Chair; Jeff Brodsky, Vice Chair of Operations; Will Lucas, Vice Chair of Human Resources; Harold Rappoport, Vice Chair of Community Outreach; and Ed Hyatt, Treasurer.

The luncheon’s featured guest speaker Dr. Scott Rifkin, a well-known internist, publisher, and business owner, described his journey from medical school to entrepreneurship. Dr. Rifkin founded Mid-Atlantic Health Care, LLC that operated 23 skilled nursing centers and currently runs two healthcare startups that specialize in data mining services and Medicare managed insurance for skilled nursing.

Honored as SCORE Client of the Year, Sherri Renée Romm has more than 20 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and application of hair enhancements, additions, and prosthetics. Working with clients worldwide, she is recognized for her work in chemotherapy, radiation, trauma, burn, and alopecia. She has received patents for industry leading hair enhancements for the hair restoration and beauty arts industries. Ms. Romm’s company, Versacchi Studios, is a full-service hair salon that offers a wide range of specialty services including, full and partial extensions and enhancements. Formed in 2014, Sherri Renée & Co. is a wholesaler to salons across the country, offering hair designs and products, consulting advice and education to upscale salons across the U.S., Canada, and Barbados.

Ms. Romm turned to the Greater Baltimore SCORE for advice on the ins and outs of building her wholesale business and help with internet marketing, advertising, and branding. SCORE Mentor and successful business owner Norman Bickman, was able to provide Ms. Romm with information on online advertising and advice about the types of social media needed to expand her marketing focus from a local to a national market.  Taking advantage of SCORE resources and advice, Sherri Renée & Co. is currently a wholesaler to 32 salons and continues to grow.
