Here at Sunrise Holiday Homes we understand why you would fall in love with a prized possession like a new static caravan you’ve just purchased. But how many people would believe that there are a whole host of celebrities who share the same love as us normal folk eh?
1967 saw John Lennon famously adding a Roma gypsy caravan to his collection of abodes for his little son Julian, a very exclusive piece of Beatles memorabilia which has just been rediscovered at the Ascot mansion once owned by the Beatles front man. For those of you who are up to date with more recent musical artists, you will find that rapper Jay-Z, Jarvis Cocker of 90’s indie band Pulp, Katherine Jenkins of pop-opera stardom and Eastenders actress Patsy Palmer are all fully into all things caravanning!
It’s pretty certain that these big timers spend their caravanning time at the exclusive, luxury end of the market, but nevertheless, their enthusiasm to be seen as caravanners says a lot about the perks of this type of holiday and the joys it can bring.
Anymore cara-fanners??
We’re not too sure cara-fanning is a word, but we want to make it work! So we’re going to tell you who else in the celebrity world qualifies as a cara-fan….
First off there’s the much famed and loved British actress Dame Helen Mirren who enjoys a regular trip with her friends and family on a traditional English caravan jolly. She is also a member of the caravan motoring club.
Next up is popular TV chef Jamie Oliver. Being environmentally friendly is particularly fashionable right now – and Jamie Oliver has followed through with his belief of being environmentally friendly and taken it into his holidaying habits. Just think of all that local produce you can buy on a caravan vacation!
Chris Martin, famed for being a huge musical star and his Hollywood actress wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, are, more surprisingly and possibly lesser known as cara-fanners. But then Chris’s dad Anthony was once the owner of Martins Caravans until he sold the company for round £5 million in 1999. You can take the boy out of the caravan….
Anybody else?
Ex pop star and more recently known for acting roles, Billie Piper join the cara-fan ranks, along with boy-band icon Mark Owen of Take That.
