Super Sikh, aka Secret Agent Deep Singh, is a superhero for a modern audience, battling bad guys from India to the U.S. and beyond. The fourth issue released today is the big finale of his first comic book adventure.

In Issue 4, The Crisis and the Chardi Kalaa, when terrorists strike, it is up to Super Sikh to save the innocent. But facing prejudice, and media backlash on one side, and villains on the other, Super Sikh is caught in the cross-fire with no way out.

Super Sikh comics are illustrated by award-winning artist Amit Tayal, and written by Bay Area comic book and screenplay writer Eileen Kaur Alden, who said about this issue, “Super Sikh has to confront forces beyond his control. It’s a very humanizing moment, something we can all relate to.”

In this issue, many current news topics are tackled, from prejudice to gender issues, in a refreshing way – with comic book action and comedy. This superhero in a turban is more relatable than ever, as he searches for answers within himself. Supreet Singh Manchanda, a Silicon Valley executive and Co-Creator of the comic, said, “This issue is inspired by the way hate crimes play out. We show the contrast between Deep Singh’s selfless sacrifice for others, compared to those who are filled with hate, targeting entire groups of innocent people as their enemy based on their identity, race, or religion.”

“When we think of our hero’s conflict and battles, we try to emphasize the universal truth that no group of people is inherently bad, there are just individuals who choose bad actions,” Eileen added.

Super Sikh is not the only character who is explored in this issue. Supreet explained, “We reveal more about our character Janelle’s back story, challenging a reader’s first impressions of her, perhaps based on her beauty or maybe her skill with a gun, and we show that there is much more to her than meets the eye.”

Issue four can be found at www.supersikhcomics.com and in comic book stores nationwide. It is also available through Madefire, one of the leading digital comic publishers, via their mobile app, where the first Super Sikh Intro Issue is available for free!
