Tim Marr find the best Black Friday deals for shoppers by tracking the prices of popular consumer products at a number of major retailers. Black Friday shows no signs of slowing down with retailers gearing up to offer more deals than ever before. Shopper numbers and total spending in 2017 are expected to be up on previous years. The National Retail Federation estimates that in 2016 total spending in the holiday shopping season reached close to $700 billion, up 3.6% on the previous year. On average consumer spending has been growing at 5% each year since 2010.

Whilst several years ago Black Friday was a day where hordes of shoppers descended upon stores across the country, more and more shoppers are now turning to the web to find the best deals. During Black Friday 2016 more customers shopped online than in store, according to a survey undertaken by the National Retail Federation.

Black Friday week starts on November 20th with online sales from the biggest retailers starting at 12AM. Deals culminate on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which fall on November 24th and November 27th.
