U.S. Missile Defense Forces in High Demand Worldwide, says MDAA

Industry: Non Profit & Charity

Increased demand for missile defenses in volatile regions are straining U.S. missile defense personnel and resources.

Washington DC (PRUnderground) April 25th, 2014

Riki Ellison, Chairman and Founder of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance (MDAA), www.missiledefenseadvocacy.org, has released a statement concerning the increasing global demand for U.S. missile defense forces overseas.

In his statement, Mr. Ellison shed light on the increasing demand and strain of U.S. missile defense forces across the globe, including the Middle East, Pacific, Israel, Europe and Korea.

Ellison says that the demand has become so great that the “soldiers that operate and man these systems are forced to be deployed for twelve months rather than the nine month deployments the rest of the Army has in place.”

Highlighting the role of the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC), Mr. Ellison pointed out that the unit’s continuous twelve month deployment rotations include Turkey, Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Guam, and Afghanistan.

Mr. Ellison said the U.S. must choose to “either consolidate and reduce” U.S. missile defense deployments overseas, or “increase and acquire additional missile defense systems with the appropriate manning needs for these systems.”

The MDAA Chairman also said there is a need for an increase in allied missile defense capabilities to “reduce the burden upon the United States.” He went on to say “Missile defense remains one of the best enablers for increasing allied partnerships.”

“Priorities must be made.” Ellison concluded. “Missile defense is a valuable strategic land capability for the United States” which “prevent future conflicts and sustain global status quo stability for its allies.”
