2019 ARC Industry Forum to Focus on Digital Transformation for Industry and Smart Cities

Industry: Technology

Digital transformation is clearly moving beyond the hype stage, with many companies and municipalities seeing tangible improvements to their operations

US (PRUnderground) November 6th, 2018

Building on the interest generated at the 2018 event, the upcoming 23rd annual ARC Industry Forum in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 4-7, 2019, will dive even deeper into approaches and strategies for digital transformation for industry and cities.  Forum participants will have an opportunity to learn about how other companies and municipalities are leveraging data, analytics, machine learning, cloud computing, and other advanced digital technologies to transform their operations securely and effectively. As in the past, this year’s Forum will offer interactive workshops, high-level technology presentations, end user case study presentations, and numerous opportunities for sharing ideas and networking.

Digital Transformation Changes Everything

“Digital transformation is clearly moving beyond the hype stage, with many companies and municipalities seeing tangible improvements to their operations, service levels, and economics by making better use of data, people, and technology,” commented Andy Chatha, CEO of ARC Advisory Group. “At the same time, technology suppliers from both the operational technology and information technology worlds are working together to roll out new and even better products, software, and services.”

But despite the progress made to date in digital transformation and IT/OT convergence, Chatha also stresses that challenges remain.  “Without robust cybersecurity, connected enterprises are more vulnerable to hackers and other cyber-criminals.  Also, today’s shortage of skilled knowledge workers continues to be a major constraint for digital transformation.”  To help meet these and other challenges, ARC has helped organize an end user-driven Digital Transformation Council, which will meet again at this year’s Forum.
