New York, NY (PRUnderground) November 16th, 2021

Gone are the days where family cars were cumbersome, boring, and mainly just functional. Today, the best family carriers must be comfortable, serene, and loaded with tech features to ensure safety and keep passengers entertained. For the 2021 CarBuzz Family Luxury Award segment, the finalists represent the pinnacle of family motoring.

Family Luxury

A variety of vehicles, across price range and body style, were nominated for the 2021 Awards.

  • Genesis G80

  • Jeep Grand Wagoneer

  • Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon

  • Audi RS6/RS7

  • Bentley Bentayga

  • Jaguar F-Pace SVR

  • Acura MDX

  • Rolls-Royce Cullinan

Finalists in this category were announced by CarBuzz, and include:

2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Representing the ultimate in American luxury, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer beats out rivals with a truly luxurious cabin with class-leading legroom in the back. Leather is the material of choice, and there is a grand total of 75 inches of screen space, catering for a digital gauge cluster, a center screen, a comfort screen, a passenger screen, and two rear passenger displays.

On the outside, power-retractable running boards and LED lights are standard, while the Quadra-Lift air suspension ensures passenger comfort. With loads of on-board tech, this behemoth isn’t a chore to pilot either.

2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon

Making the family wagon cool again, Mercedes-AMG’s E63 Wagon comes with a twin-turbo V8 that hurls the sleek cruiser to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and on to 180 mph. Outputs are an incredible 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, which is a bonus in a car meant to carry passengers. To this end, a plush cabin swathed in suede, leather, wood, and metal greets occupants, as does a massive infotainment system, multicolor ambient lighting, and some of CarBuzz’s favorite massaging front seats in the industry. Sound is channeled through a Burmester unit. And to top all of this off, there’s still around 35 cubic feet of space behind the back row.

2022 Acura MDX

Launched back in 2000, the latest iteration of the Acura MDX is a fourth-gen seven-seater that offers a roomy cabin and all the tech you’d need to keep your passengers safe and happy. While power is only rated at 290 hp and there’s no touchscreen capability to the 12.3-inch infotainment screen, there is a touchpad. Features include traffic jam assist, Amazon Alexa, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and an available Tech Package that equips a 12-speaker ELS sound system. Top-end models get even more – a 16-speaker unit that is one of the best CarBuzz has tested.

All nominees had to be available for a first-drive or test-drive event to qualify. Winners will be announced on November 30, 2021. Full article available here: https://carbuzz.com/features/2021-carbuzz-awards-finalists-family-luxury.
