A Wicked Holiday at SactoMofo3 with a Free Wii and an Apple iPad2 Under Your Tree

Industry: Events, Food & Drink

Chris Jarosz, owner of one of Sacramento’s newest food trucks, Wicked ‘Wich announced that he will debut his latest creation, “The Li’l ‘Wich,” a Scion chase car, along with new East-coast-inspired gourmet sandwiches at the Sacramento Food Festival (SactoMoFo3) on December 3, 2011, sponsored by Stitches ‘n Dishes, who is giving away a Wii console and games at the event.

Stitches ‘n Dishes is California’s only network of vendors, venues and their fans, providing news, schedules, reviews, high-quality photography, video and media coverage on its website. The blog site will sponsor SactoMoFo3, a full-day mobile food festival at the Farmers Market on 8th St. and W St., in Downtown Sacramento, CA on December 3, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Founders, Christopher Ford and Andrew Nicora announced that Stitches ‘n Dishes will award a Nintendo Wii game console, including Super Mario Bros, Food Network’s Cook or Be Cooked!, Order Up! and a Wii Cooking Set, a $250 value, in a no-purchase-necessary, free drawing. Stitches ‘n Dishes will provide a seating area, including tables, as well.

Bringing together Northern California’s best epicureans on wheels, SactoMoFo presents SactoMofo 3 in Downtown Sacramento. The single-day food festival that introduced the mobile food phenomenon to Sacramento brings its third and largest festival, featuring tantalizing cuisines by local food trucks and stands, as well as exceptional food trucks from one of the best culinary destinations in the country, if not the world – San Francisco.

Ford published a review about Jarosz’ wicked sandwiches on the Stitches ‘n Dishes blog site in October. “We couldn’t be more excited about Wicked ‘Wich at this amazing event. This truck is a night club on wheels, fully equipped with LED screens, exterior speakers and a state of the art sound system. People flock to this truck for its creative design alone, but the food is phenomenal,” said Ford.

A billboard-sized mural of the crimson-haired Wicked Wich soaring through black sky on a turbo, rocket powered high-tech broom boldly painted on the sides of the truck sets the mischievous tone of the ‘Wich’s unique menu. All of this supported on the oldest food truck on the streets of Sacramento, built in 1975, but still running with the best of them. Jarosz, a self-taught restaurateur, has built his reputation not on the principles of gourmet cooking, but on his grandmother’s and mother’s recipes.

“We’re not fad food,” said Jarosz. “We cook with heart, passion and instinct, and offer something unique and interesting. We offer things you won’t find anywhere and use only fresh products. Nothing is frozen; not even the fries.”

Hosted in the historic Southside Park neighborhood, Downtown Sacramento, more than 20 of Northern California’s top chefs will converge at the popular Sunday Farmers Market under the overpass at W-X Streets, across from Southside Park at SactoMoFo 3 on December 3, where Jarosz will debut the Li’l ‘Wich chase car, wrapped in its wicked insignia.

Wicked ‘Wich (https://www.wichonwheels.com) is the first mobile food truck to incorporate the use of a chase car in its service offering. The chase car will bring street food directly from the truck to the front door, the office or a conference room.

“When people can’t get away for lunch at their favorite food truck, we’ll bring it to them,” said Jarosz.

He will begin offering delivery service via the Li’l ‘Wich chase car in December. Also in December, Jarosz will begin offering a vegan line, a line of baked goods, homemade sausage and meats from his commercial kitchen.

Wicked ‘Wich is also the first food truck to offer drive through service during rainy days. Jarosz concocted the idea during a drizzly afternoon lunch break. The business-savvy restaurateur partners with businesses and shares parking lot space to accommodate drive-thru customers as they pull up along-side the crimson witch to place orders.

“Chris Jarosz is one of the most innovative, creative and talented restaurateurs I’ve met,” said Nicora. He’s facing Sacramento’s prohibitive street vending ordinances head on, and spearheading solutions for a very challenged market. He’s effectively found a way to bring the highest quality meats and locally grown produce, a creative menu, and bar none the best bread at amazingly affordable prices.”

Rated a “Must Try – 4 Dishes” by Stitches ‘n Dishes, Wicked ‘Wich will offer its “workin’ man’s sandwiches at workin’ man’s prices” at the SactoMoFo 3 event on December 3, 2011.

The SactoMoFo 3 event will also feature local, Sacramento chefs, as well as San Francisco Chefs, including Li’l Burger, Drewski’s, Chando Taco’s, Heavenly Dog’s, Simply Southern Foods / It’s Corn Cake, Cajun Wagon, La Peidad, Volkswaffle, Smoothie Patrol, Fuzion Eatz, LLC, Swabbies, Leila’s Lumpia, Chairman Bao, Bacon Bacon, JapaCurry, Hapa SF, El Porteno, An the Go, Esther’s Cupcakes and Seoul on Wheels.

Organizers for the event have arranged for Santa Claus and elves to make an appearance for photo ops, and they will announce additional activities in the next week.

SactoMoFo 3, benefiting the USMC Reserves Toys for Tots and the Sacramento Food Bank is a free event. Parking is also free. Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy and/or unopened, non-perishable food items for the toy and food drives.

There is no purchase necessary to win the Nintendo Wii Console bundle package. Entry forms will be available at food vendors and at the Stitches ‘n Dishes table. Participants who “like” the Stitches ‘n Dishes Facebook page will be automatically entered in a free drawing to win an Apple iPad 2 WiFi.

Entry rules for the drawing are located on the Stitches ‘n Dishes blog site.
