Aeromotus visited a drones exhibition by Dubai Police during UAE Innovates month.

Innovation Month is the biggest innovation festival which was organized by the government to help create a culture of innovation in the country.

Innovation is a trigger of economic development. The overriding purpose of this festival is to show that every nation should be focused on the development of national innovation frameworks because it is the key to the economic growth of the country. The United Arab Emirates is the icon for creativity and innovation. The government believes that investing in innovative technologies is an important step forward.

The festival lasted for one month across seven emirates and included a wide array of different activities and competitions. Every emirate had a full week of innovation. The following events were held in Dubai:

• A Gift to the Environment (an amazing competition of videos that show innovative techniques in environmental charity).

• Brainstorming Workshops (they were held in the Healthcare and Administrative Support areas).

• An electronic brainstorming session.

• Hub on wheels.

• Competition between social media channels.

• CSR Smart Platform (the portal providing reports on the country’s development strategy).

• Innovation Month Events.

• Workshops on the FAHR Award.

Dubai Police Demonstrated Its Drones

The citizens of Dubai had a fair opportunity to see the work of Dubai police closer. They showed their major equipment which mostly consists of innovative drones.

Today, aerial surveillance is impossible without drones. The existing drone technology allows law enforcements to be more productive. Besides, drones gradually become an inseparable part of law enforcement in UAE.

The Dubai Police represented the following drones:

• Dahua Drones. These flying machines are mostly built for public security missions such as forest fire detection, monitoring of high speed traffic, supervision of long bridges, etc. Simply put, Dahua drones are widely used for different security scenarios. Drone carrying a defibrillator is a great achievement of modern technologies. Drones are faster than the emergency services. Therefore, they can increase the chance of survival for individuals suffering from cardiac arrest.

• DJI Matrice 600 – one of the best flying platforms developed by DJI specifically to meet the industrial needs. Simply put, this is a powerful and super flexible multi-rotor work horse with a 6 kg payload capacity and almost 36 minutes of flight time. The drone is designed specifically to meet the needs of professional filmmakers, multi-sensor imaging, mining, surveying, thermal imaging, aerial mapping and all other kinds of inspection. Besides, DJI Matrice 600 can be used by law enforcements to monitor the city traffic. Today, this aircraft is the best solution for traffic monitoring because of its mobility, broad view range and affordability.

• DJI Matrice 210 – one of few drones equipped with 17-inch propellers that ensure stable flight in strong winds. Its new dual-battery power system allows flying in absolutely different environments. The overriding purpose of this flying machine is to perform inspections in order to collect data. Being equipped with Z30 camera, the drone becomes a number-one police tool. The Zenmuse Z30 camera offers 30x optical and 6x digital zoom. This drone can be widely used for rescue operations in absolutely different weather conditions.

• DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise. This drone offers similar capabilities as the previous one but at a lower price. The drone is integrated with 4K zoom camera and a 3 axis gimbal. It was developed to serve different purposes (you can use it either for personal needs or for surveillance operations). The drone features the Spotlight, Speaker and a self-heating battery and a port to mount DJI modular accessories.

• DJI Inspire 2 with X5S camera. This drone guarantees the safest way to put the camera in the air. Inspire 2 is one of the best drones released by DJI, which now is widely used by professional filmmakers and police officers. In a combination with X5S camera, DJI Inspire 2 can be used for tracking different events from a bird’s perspective. The drone also comes with dual barometers, dual inertial motion sensors, dedicated processors for various subsystems.

The visitors of the festival had a fair opportunity to see all the drones at work and ask any questions seeking clarification. Police officers were glad to answer any questions related to the use of drone equipment.
