American Cyber League Cyber Security Center of Excellence Secures Southern University as Lead Academic Partner

X Corp Solutions has partnered with Southern University (SU) and Southern University System Foundation (SUSF) to integrate academic research and  collaboration at the American Cyber League Cyber Security Center of Excellence adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico. August will mark the opening of the largest center for cyber security in a HUBZone in the Commonwealth of Virginia where Southern University will occupy classrooms and install faculty and students for cybersecurity research projects and contract proposals.

The mission of the American Cyber League is to create a “Cyber Domain Ecosystem” at the Center which is complemented by Southern’s legacy of building partnerships between higher education and the public and private sectors. This partnership will further opportunities in advanced cyber technologies and offer certification programs for the cyber security field.

Southern University and A&M College is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) and has a rich heritage of producing highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students in thirty-four undergraduate programs and twenty-two graduate programs. Southern has a diverse enrollment of more than 12,000 students with locations in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Shreveport, Louisiana.

The American Cyber League Center of Excellence offers an interdisciplinary environment in which government entities (federal/local, defense, intelligence, and law enforcement), academia, and corporate entities (finance, manufacturing, infrastructure, and commerce) collaborate to identify, solve, and transfer to the workforce essential innovation and training that improves the capacity of the entire cyber ecosystem to protect and respond to current and emerging cyber threats. Its premier center, located in Stafford, VA, will provide training, research, and facilities that will support this collaborative mission.
