Since becoming a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) in 2021, Children’s Therapy Network (CTN) has expanded to a second location in Newbury Park. Now, the Newbury Park staff have also completed training and certification through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to earn the CAC designation. The designation demonstrates CTN’s dedication to enhancing its services and programs for autistic patients by having more than 80% of patient-facing staff complete an autism-specific training and certification.

“With Autism Spectrum Disorder and sensory processing disorder awareness on the rise, parents are becoming more familiar with their child’s abilities and the support that their child may need. My philosophy is not only one of our company but of my personal beliefs. Autistic children provide value to their families, to their communities, and to society, but it’s necessary to provide a more accepting environment as well as provide individualized support in order for them to discover their own value and self-confidence while also educating those around them,” shares Dr. Cassandra Woods, owner and CEO of Children’s Therapy Network. “With our office staff and therapists successfully completing extensive training in Autism Spectrum Disorder and sensory

processing disorder awareness, we have a full set of complex skills to assist parents and their children to live a successful, fulfilling life. Children’s Therapy Network offers a holistic approach to serving children with sensory processing disorders, including psychical, speech, occupational, and early intervention therapies. The team’s certification better equips providers with new tools and strategies to improve their level of service to all of their patients.”

CTN Newbury Park offers a variety of therapies to help autistic children improve their quality of life. The staff provides a safe, healing and neurodivergent nurturing environment. CTN Newbury offers occupational, speech, physical and early intervention therapies. In addition, CTN also provides recreation group therapy and adaptive PE programs. Its occupational and physical therapy teams help with activities of daily living, the use of everyday objects, and aid in fine and gross motor skills and therapeutic play. While their speech therapy team plays a critical role in helping build the foundation of speech and language development along with implementing sensory integration- base therapy strategies.

“Specialized training and certification are important for professionals working with autistic patients to help ensure they can improve outcomes and enhance their understanding from a variety of perspectives, including autistic self-advocates,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman. “We’re excited to continue our collaboration with Children’s Therapy Network to build their team’s expertise and help them continue to serve their clients.”
