Cutting-edge concentrated solar power technology offers opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions city-wide

Princeton, NJ (PRUnderground) May 25th, 2022

Mayor Bill DeGolian of the City of Washington in Georgia, and Steve Anglin, founder and CEO of WeSolar CSP have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bring cutting-edge solar technology to the citizens of the City of Washington.

In a joint effort to reduce carbon emissions from the burning of liquid natural gas, WeSolar CSP will design a solar farm along with a microgrid using proprietary ASC technology, which will supply the City of Washington with clean, affordable, and consistent electricity from solar energy.

The project will comprise both solar panels and an innovative and unique concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP) technology, generating clean energy and bringing modernization to the city. The proprietary ASC technology includes energy storage, turning an intermittent energy generation into a dispatchable one.

“WeSolar CSP powered by ASC is proud and excited to be working with Mayor Bill DeGolian, Wilkes County Commission Chairman Sam Moore and their teams to provide the City of Washington with the adoption of clean solar renewable energy. The citizens of the City of Washington will benefit by having a cleaner environment and experiencing price certainty in the face of the ever-increasing energy costs of fossil fuels,” explained WeSolar CSP’s CEO, Steve Anglin, a notable leader with the Clean Energy for America Presidential Inauguration Ball and CleanTech Leaders Roundtable member.

“We are excited to bring cutting edge energy technology to our historic City and look forward to working with Steve Anglin and the WeSolar CSP team,” said Mayor Bill DeGolian of the City of Washington.

About WeSolar CSP

A minority-owned American renewable energy technology and design company. WeSolar CSP’s Chief Technology Officer developed the innovative and disruptive ASC technology. Using high temperatures from the sun, the system creates thermal heat and long-duration energy storage, ensuring a consistent electricity supply from a clean source.

In addition to a zero-carbon footprint power generation, the technology can be used to yield industrial process heat, create green hydrogen, and desalinate water, among other uses. Founded in 2018, WeSolar is based out of Princeton, NJ and has offices in NY, GA, and AZ.
