Dr. Ellis C. Gedney Joins the Board at Student Studio, LLC

Student Studio, an education technology and marketing company announced today that Dr. Ellis C. Gedney has joined the Board. Dr. Gedney has more than thirty years of experience in educational administration and management, the last twenty of which he has served as a college president or chairman of the board. He was honored as Team Leader of the Year in January 1994 by the ACCSC, and recognized for his lobbying effort by the Career College Association in 1999. His Committee assignments included convention committee Chairman, CCAPAC Chairman and the Legislative Advisory Council. Dr. Gedney serves on the Board of Directors of the Career College Foundation, and he has presented his publications at both national and international conferences on higher education.

Dr. Ellis C. Gedney served as Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Valley College. His prior positions include Director of Student Financial Aid, Dean of Student Services and Professor of Counseling Psychology. He served as Executive Vice President of United Marketing Corporation from August 1982 to September 1983. He served as Consultant at Department of Health and Human Services from 1973 to 1983. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Institute for Business and Technology from May 1985 to December 1988, responsible for the effective management of a highly successful proprietary school. Significantly improved the marketing, sales, retention and placement of students. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Tucson College of Business from October 1983 to May 1985. Dr. Gedney has been Chairman of the Board of Silicon Valley College since 1990. He served as Chairman of the Board at National Career Education from 1985 to 1989 ands its Vice Chairman of the Board from 1989 to 1990. Dr. Gedney serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ex’pression College for the Digital Arts. He serves as Member of the Advisory Board of Career College Holding Co., Inc. Dr. Gedney served as Member of the Advisory Board at InsideTrack, Inc.

Dr. Gedney is the former President of Rubicon Children’s Center. He served as Director of Financial Aid of San Francisco State University from 1973 to 1982. He served as President of Western Association of Student Financial Aid Administrator from 1980 to 1981. He serves as a Member of the Northington Foundation, Mills Peninsula Foundation, a Member of educational honoraries: Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi and Alpha Beta Kappa, Fremont Chamber of Commerce, Emeryville Chamber of Commerce and the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools. Gedney is the Accreditation Team Leader for National Association of Trade and Technical Schools (NATES) and Accreditation Team Leader for Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). He received a Ph.D in Psychology from University of Virginia in 1971. He obtained M.S in Business from Columbia University in 1965 in and received B.A in Liberal Arts from Denison University in 1963.
