Women-Owned Technology Solution Helps Businesses Protect Against The Spread Of COVID-19

Mississauga, Canada (PRUnderground) March 8th, 2021

Egeah.app, a new health self-screening application for workplaces to protect employees and visitors against the spread of COVID-19, today announces the female-owned company’s official launch in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2021. As businesses across Canada and the US re-open, Egeah streamlines the COVID-19 symptom screening process for employees entering the workplace with intelligent and compliant authorization technology. By screening for symptoms of COVID-19, Egeah—powered by Ovalsquare—helps ensure the safety of all employees, customers, and workplace visitors and enables companies to get back to business.

“As a female-owned company, we are excited to launch our product on International Women’s Day and help bring awareness to women in the technology industry,” said Beata Zbierowska, Director of First Impressions and Zoi Padiotis, Chief Disruptor of Egeah. “As women in technology ourselves, we aim to inspire young women to pursue careers and entrepreneurship in the industry. Women possess unique cognitive abilities that impact the industry’s ability to innovate, adapt, and collaborate, despite its history as a male-dominated field. For instance, as women, we are proud to have thoughtfully created an innovative solution that meets today’s business leaders’ needs to control against COVID-19.”

According to a July 2020 poll, more than 50% of worldwide business leaders in the legal industry agreed that COVID-19 symptom screeners for both employees and visitors must be in place before reopening a workplace. Therefore, screening apps such as Egeah will be imperative for businesses welcoming remote workers back into firms or for offices updating their on-site safety standards.

Egeah provides businesses with an easy-to-use, secure digital form that pre-screens for COVID-19 symptoms, saving employers time from conducting health screenings manually and providing them with a contact-free solution for additional safety. Completed by employees daily before entering the workplace in as little as 20 seconds, Egeah will either approve employees for their arrival or instruct them to obtain a COVID-19 test. Upon submitting the self-assessment, the administrating employer receives a real-time notification of the employee or guests’ results for any necessary follow-up.

Egeah offers additional functionality with its Advanced or Enterprise plans. Enhanced features include temperature checks, a COVID-19 test center locator, workplace-specific questions, setting allotted time frames for self-screening, and customizing safe entry protocols. For Canada-based businesses, Egeah’s self-assessment questions reflect guidance from the Province of Ontario and Canada’s Public Health Agency. For US-based companies, questions reflect the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Egeah is currently available in English, with additional languages forthcoming.

A progressive web application (PWA), Egeah works on any platform, including desktop and mobile devices. Employee data is solely available to system administrators bound by strict privacy and confidentiality agreements.

Egeah offers its solution complimentary to non-profit organizations. In addition, in celebration of its launch, a free 14-day trial is available now through Egeah’s website. For more information, visit https://www.ovalsquare.ca/homepage/our-work/egeah-app.
