Ford have announced that they hope to expand their sales in China by roughly 5% over the course of 2012, with optimism focused on the group’s commercial vehicles

Ford have announced that they hope to expand their sales in China by roughly 5% over the course of 2012, with the group feeling particularly optimistic about the prospects of its commercial range.
This positive news comes during what has proved to be a difficult period for the Far Eastern country’s automobile sector as a whole. The Chinese government has recently begun to reign in incentives designed to encourage sales that slumped at the start of worldwide economic difficulties, although Ford did still fare better and record more growth than the industry average.
The American company, however, are confident that a lack of credit availability which caused market-wide fleet problems in 2011 will not be such an issue this year; the president of the group’s Asia-Pacific and Africa operations, Joseph Hinrichs, spoke of his confidence that the partnership commercial vehicles shares with China’s own Jiangling Motors will help trade to thrive in the year ahead.
With the automotive giant potentially planning to build more Chinese factories in the near future to help produce the 15 new Ford models that are expected to be ready for distribution by 2015, it is hoped that more and more corporations around the globe will see spending money on high-quality, resilient vans as a worthwhile business investment for when markets recover.
