Goldfarb founder, Saul Goldfarb, began his career in auto parts but struggled to compete with companies producing cheaper reproductions of quality parts. In 1997, Goldfarb departed mainstream auto parts to specialize in selling fuel injector cores, injection pump cores, and turbochargers for diesel engines, a market that has proven profitable. As the business expanded to include rebuilt turbochargers and diesel injection pump parts, Goldfarb relocated several times to increase his storage space.
“Despite the vast number of parts we have in stock, the diesel engine parts that my customers are looking for may not be under our roof,” remarked Goldfarb. “But I can reach out to a remanufacturer in another state or a dealer in another country, and I can get a lead on that part because of the relationships we have built with others in the industry.”
Goldfarb & Associates bought much of the inventory housed at their 10,000 square foot facility in Rockville, MD, from liquidation deals or other opportunistic purchases. However, they also partner with other vendors to offer diesel engine parts on consignment in-store and online. These mutually beneficial partnerships allow Goldfarb to provide more resources to its loyal customer base.
“We hope to be the first place our customers look for anything,” said Goldfarb, “from a complete injector pump to an injector washer and everything in between.”
