iConstituent’s New 2021 Vaccine Rollout Toolkit

iConstituent has released a new toolkit to help elected officials drive COVID-19 vaccine uptake.  Both Pfizer and Moderna have FDA emergency authorization for their COVID-19 vaccines, however, the rollout has been slow and vaccine acceptance even among health care professionals is lower than expected.  On the flip side, there are millions of Americans eager to receive the vaccine and help the economy get back to normal. Elected officials can help their constituents by communicating accurate and timely rollout information while building positive relationships for years to come.

The toolkit shares best practices of merging social media outreach with targeted SMS messaging using iConstituent’s GovText, an outreach tool that allows elected officials to select constituents by geographic location, demographic, or other criteria for pin-point messaging.  Elected officials can engage their constituents in one-on-one communication while utilizing the power of AI scripting that responds to frequently asked questions and enhances staff productivity.

SMS and online engagement works because the barrier of access is very low. 96% of all Americans own a cellphone, with over 80% using a smartphone (Pew Research 2019).  Even among low-income Americans, 71% have smartphones.  This means that citizen engagement can be done from anywhere at any time, online.  Most SMS messages are read in 5 minutes, ensuring that critical information gets to the people that need it the most.
