The details of Ha Le’s history are sad and shocking. Right from her earliest days when she was regularly beaten by a babysitter while her parents, distracted by their toxic relationship, failed to notice. Later she fled wartime Vietnam in pursuit of freedom for herself and her unborn child, only to end up stuck on a boat for 25-days in a state of constant fear and starvation, followed by imprisonment in Hong Kong. Eventually accepted into Australia as a refugee, she started a new life, determined to achieve higher education and financial freedom. However life dealt her blow after blow with three bouts with cancer, and an uprooting of her relationship with her daughter. Ha Le, once again, looked deep inside and found the strength, love, and faith in motherhood to never-give-in, developing the skills she needed to free herself from the chains of her past and finally be truly liberated. After sharing this story as an in-demand motivational speaker and empowering her coaching clients, Ha Le is releasing her memoir, titled “Waratah”, in the hopes of helping many more people to transform their lives.

With a heart blended between Eastern colours and a Western education, Ha-Le’s survival strategy was to transform her thought processes and approach to life. She resolved to break all the emotional traps that she had been bottling inside since her traumatic childhood marred by a dysfunctional family, child abuse at a very young age, and the onset of the Vietnam War.
