José Fontaiña

José M. Fontaiña (b. 1961) is a full-time artist living and working in Fairview, New Jersey. He was born in Spain but moved to the United States with his family in 1978. Fontaiña received a BA in Art from William Paterson University and was mentored by Andre Teabo (Andre Thibault), the same person who assisted to the well-known 20th-century African-American artist Romare Bearden. It was Teabo who helped Fontaiña discover his own style and new ways of painting.

For today, José Fontaiña is largely known for his vibrant abstract paintings and geometrically inspired compositions made with acrylics, but the artist also works in oil pastels. Besides, Fontaiña has extensive experience in creating pointillist paintings with small brushes, technical pens, and inks, using a very interesting technique that once allowed the young artist to begin exhibiting in art galleries.

“I describe my work as being a good Caldo Gallego, a delicious Galician soup made by mixing together many vegetables and meats. Instead of using cooking ingredients, I use the elements of art,” says José Fontaiña. His paintings, both early and recent ones, are a reflection of the artist’s personality and ingenuity. They are beautiful and exciting, and they are definitely worth your attention. At Fine Art Shippers, we highly recommend that you visit Fontaiña’s official website to learn more about this talented person and his striking art. You will love his visually appealing abstract paintings that leave a lasting impression on everyone who is fortunate enough to encounter them.
