Leaders in Amazon Marketing, Buy Box Experts and Egility, Announce Acquisition

Two respected Amazon account managers and branding strategy consultants —Buy Box Experts and Egility—announce the successful completion of an acquisition that will raise the industry bar for innovation and depth of experience. The company will continue under the name of Buy Box Experts, LLC and retain its headquarters in Lindon, Utah.

Buy Box Experts now has over 115 employees—including nearly 20 former Amazon employees. They have direct experience providing Amazon selling services for more than 1,000 merchants, including third-party sellers and first-party Amazon brands.

Joseph Hansen (CEO and Founding Partner) and James Thomson, PhD (Partner) will continue in their positions for the new company. Hansen started and successfully sold five companies prior to starting Buy Box Experts. Thomson brings deep Amazon expertise to the team, having served as the former chief of Amazon Services and the first Fulfillment by Amazon account manager.

Prior to Buy Box Experts, the team worked together to start PROSPER Show, the largest U.S.-based educational conference for Amazon sellers. They sold the company at the end of 2017 to Emerald Expositions.

Hansen said that he is excited to join forces with Liz Adamson, founder and CEO of Egility, who will assume the role of VP of Account Management. “Liz and her team at Egility are known for their innovation with Amazon advertising and listing optimization,” said Hansen. “They bring a level of expertise and creativity to the company that is going to allow us to provide an unprecedented suite of services to our clients.”
