Lord Mayor hosts Samuel Wilson’s Loan Trust 250th Anniversary

The Company of Entrepreneurs held a celebration event on Friday 1st April 2022 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Samuel Wilson’s Loan Trust (SWLT). The event was hosted by The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor, Alderman Vincent Keaveny and held in the historic Egyptian Hall at the Lord Mayor’s iconic home and office, Mansion House, in the City of London.
Samuel Wilson’s Loan Trust is a charitable organisation which grants business loans to young people for establishing and developing new businesses. The Trust offers loans to people aged 39 and under who have recently set up business or are about to engage in a trade, manufacture, business, or profession and who are experiencing financial difficulty or another disadvantage.
The event was supported by The Institute of Directors, The City of London Corporation, The Company of Entrepreneurs, and the Heart of The City.
The Master of The Company of Entrepreneurs, Judy Hadden stated, “It was an absolute privilege and pleasure to…bring about this successful event held at Mansion House”. Freeman Tony Shergill, CEO of BritAsia TV, stated, “The Trust provides a brilliant opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to access funding that would otherwise not be available to them”.
