Denver, CO (PRUnderground) May 4th, 2021
Paruzal Games, the Denver-based, live-hosted, online escape room company announced today the winner of its virtual escape room competition, The Great Escape. Team Prospect has been named the “Fastest Escape Room Team on the Internet” for winning the bracketed tournament featuring a series of new, yet-to-be-released, Paruzal games.
“We were blown away by the enthusiastic response to the tournament,” said Paruzal CEO, James Warner. “Teams really enjoyed the competitive element added to our already engaging escape room play. We met a lot of diehard enthusiasts and want to extend our thanks, not only to the amazing Team Prospect, but to everyone who participated. It was a blast!”
Registration for Paruzal’s Great Escape Birthday Tournament began in February, with nearly 40 teams eventually signing up to try their hand at besting Paruzal’s challenging virtual escape rooms by completing them with the best times. Winners moved up through brackets, with several of them besting the records of several Guinness World Book of Record holders for escape rooms.
In the fourth and final round of the tournament, there were just two teams left standing: “Team Prospect” and “Team Ladies and Gentlemen, the non-equity cast of Godspell.” And In the end it was Team Prospect – with members originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and who now play virtually from different cities – that emerged victorious and was bestowed with the coveted title and a trophy commemorating the win.
“The tournament was super fun and winning the title is a real thrill,” said Tammy McLeod, a member of Team Prospect. “We still haven’t come down from the win! Our team members actually live in three separate cities, but now that we can play virtual escape rooms, we’ve been playing a game together every week for the past year or so.”
Team members have been playing in live and virtual escape rooms since they formed in 2016. Since then they have competed (and won) in a number of global competitions, often representing the U.S. team.
“Since we’ve been playing together for so long, we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses,” said Jason Lee, another member of Team Prospect. “For instance, Tammy knows Morse Code and so whenever we encounter it, we leave the decryption to her. We make a great team since our skillsets and abilities complement each other.”
“We just celebrated our first year in business and my wife Elyssa and I continue to be inspired by our players,” said Warner. “This tournament showed us how passionate people are about solving puzzles and working as a team to accomplish a goal. And with virtual escape rooms, players can invite friends along, regardless of their location. ”
In addition to tournament play, Paruzal is now offering a number of new services including custom game writing, corporate team building events, gift certificates, and online party hosting. With many things to come in the next year, Paruzal Games plans to continue breaking barriers with their exciting dimension of gameplay for individuals or groups.
