Darin E. Lee is thrilled to announce his debut book, Put Up, Shut Up, and Never Give Up. In the book, Lee reflects upon his time fighting in Afghanistan and a life of faith-testing battles to deliver a story of courage and survival.
Lee is a veteran expert in international, federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as corporate safety and security. Over the course of his career, Lee specialized in community policing, major crimes, criminal intelligence, youth resources, and gangs. He held rank as the Executive Director of the Police Athletic League before serving as the local leader of the U.S. Secret Service and the FBI Federal Joint Terrorism Task Force. Internationally, Lee served as a U.S. ISAF Law Enforcement Officer in Afghanistan, and after working in law enforcement, Lee transitioned to being a subject matter expert in corporate safety and security for two major companies.
When he founded Passionate Grit, Lee’s witty, blunt, Christian approaches went viral. He now offers events and presentations for youth and adults alike, and he prides himself in giving his audiences an authentic look at his life while being honest about the real changes they can make in theirs.
Put Up, Shut Up, and Never Give Up was released in October 2016 exclusively on Amazon. Readers go on a journey with Lee that takes them to the fighting in Afghanistan to struggles on American streets, and readers also learn firsthand about the battle that rendered Lee blind. Lee suffered three strokes and an aortic dissection that also caused him to go blind. Only 2% of people survive a medical emergency of this caliber.
The subtitle of the book, “When the world tells you to tap out despite Passionate Grit”, offers a core value that Lee shares with others. Although society encouraged him to give up, Lee continued to fight for what he believed in. Readers learn about how Lee cheated death on multiple occasions, and they get a taste of the faith-based perspective that has led Lee to a lifetime of happiness.
While Put Up, Shut Up, and Never Give Up isn’t a self-help book, Lee believes it can help readers dig deep to ready themselves for life’s faith-testing battles. According to Lee, “I have lost my sight, however I gained my why, purpose, and vision. Nothing is impossible – the only obstacle is you.”
