Photographer Jessiena Lake Launches Week Long Project “Tones” Celebrating Color, Energy & Optimism to Close 2020

The Covid-19 crisis and its surrounding lockdowns have put many people’s work lives at least partially on hold. While this has been extremely difficult overall, it has also given some the chance to complete individual projects that may have otherwise not happened. In that spirit, commercial photographer Jessiena Lake recently announced the debut of a week-long photography project “TONES”, produced in the past few months. “TONES” is a celebration and exploration of color in everyday life, one color per day covering daily things, in an exciting way- like food, clothing, music, movies and movement. The project is very likely to give many people a boost of positive energy and momentum now, when they may need it most.

“I started ‘TONES’ with the intent to shake up my own 2020 experience and in doing so, it made me want to go bigger and share the color-infused love,” commented Jessiena. “Creating something to share with others has helped me to feel less alone and depressed by our ever changing reality. By sharing this project from December 26th, 2020- January 1st, 2021, I wanted to end the year on a hopeful tone and start the new year the same way.”

According to Jessiena, by living one color per day, she hopes the images, playlists, movie lists and gentle movements shared will be a welcome distraction and provide some fun for those checking “TONES” out, as her own contribution to the collective Covid Experience.
