Now, the popular science “Book about Garbage”, written by Kyiv schoolchildren in collaboration with children’s writer Galyna Tkachuk travels in Ukraine as part of an ecological workshop of the IT company Lucky Labs.

In June, Galyna Tkachuk together with eco-activists held presentations of the book at book festivals “Island Europe” in Vinnytsa, BookSpace in Dnipro, as well as in Zaporizhia and Kharkiv. The founder of the company Lucky Labs Rustam Gilfanov shares his thoughts about it.

“At the presentations, children discussed the problem of oversaturation of garbage on Earth, learned how to sort garbage for recycling, and looked for options for a global solution to a garbage problem,” Rustam Gilfanov says. In Zaporizhia, they even played the board game “Recycling”, invented by a local schoolboy. “All this suggests that this problem has increased relevance and requires a quick solution. We are pleased to participate in this process and make our own efforts to preserve our ecosystem.”

The idea of “Books about Garbage” appeared in the spring of last year, when Lucky Labs organized an ecological workshop for Kyiv schoolchildren. The results of the work lead to a publication of a popular science book for adolescents, written by adolescents. The presentation of the book took place at the exhibition Book Arsenal 2019 in Kyiv.
