Movement Lincoln Park, part of Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness, a national community of indoor climbing gyms offering bouldering, rope climbing, yoga, fitness and youth programs, will host a Sendgeance Rope Competition on Saturday, April 18. The Sendgeance is a high-energy climbing event that’s open to members and non-members ages 13 and up. With two competitive heats (Heat 1: 8:30 AM–11:30 AM; Heat 2: 12:30 PM–3:30 PM), a 5:00 PM onsight final for top Open-category competitors, and a post-finals awards party, Sendgeance promises big climbs, loud music and a festive community atmosphere.
Sendgeance is built for climbers of all abilities. Competitors may enter one of three graded divisions -Recreation (5.easy–5.10a), Intermediate (5.10b–5.11b), and Open (5.11c and up) – with separate Men’s, Women’s, Non-Binary and Silver Fox (50+) categories. Movement also welcomes a Paraclimbing division (all skill levels and genders) that competes for podium placement (note: Paraclimbing does not advance to the onsight final).
Format & Scoring
Sendgeance uses a modified redpoint format: climbers attempt labeled routes and score points based on how far they progress with a limited number of attempts per route. The highest-scoring climbers in the Men’s, Women’s and Non-Binary Open categories will advance to a live onsight final – one route, one attempt – to determine the overall winners.
