Coffee company supports local and global initiatives

West Coast USA and Canada (PRUnderground) July 9th, 2010

BC’s Stoiköff Coffee Company is the first Canadian member of 4C Association (Common Code for the Coffee Community Association), an international organization improving the social, environmental, and economic conditions for all who make a living in the coffee sector.

“We are delighted to participate in 4C Association, which fits our corporate sustainability mandate,” says Stoiköff President Juan Puac. Puac hopes that their involvement will soon include training and seminars for coffee farmers in Latin America. “Our membership is a positive step in our commitment to give community coffee farmers in developing countries access to training and capacity building in sustainable agricultural practices, food safety, quality improvement, and organizational development.” 4C’s reach extends to Latin America, Asia, and Africa, among other countries and continents.

Locally, Stoiköff will award a $500 grant to a Richmond student graduating high school despite physical, mental, domestic, or economic hardships.
