“We often don’t realize how strong and resilient we are, until we have to be,” commented the clearly passionate author. “I was and ordinary immigrant girl who experienced some very challenging life adversities and despite that, I felt that I had and extraordinary life journey and overcame my life’s adversities by remaining resilient, believing that 10% is what happens to you in life and 90% is how your react to it, always leaving my heart open to love, remaining hopeful and optimistic , seeing the beauty that surrounds us and feeling grateful for all I have and opportunities that life presents us with that helps us grow and evolve. I felt so strong and confident looking back that despite all that happened in my life, I raises my son, supported my parents, achieved great career success and I know that I could do anything I put my mind too.”
Khama continued, “I wanted to write this book to share my story as I believe it will resonate with many. I hoped to inspire other women to walk their paths, remain true to themselves, know that we are only human and it’s ok to make mistakes in life or be less than 100% in our roles some days, never lose hope, remain optimistic and know that they are stronger and more resilient than they may think they are. I want them to feel in charge of their lives and have the confidence to know that they are the best warriors of their life and as long as we move forward and put one foot in front of the other, life is always rewarding. I also want to encourage them to share their stories, as it’s by story telling that we develop empathy, understanding, compassion, acceptance and ultimately love.”
